My Makeup Routine 7.28.13

So to start off my makeup routine, I being with a freshly moisturized face.  I use the Mario Badescu Aloe Moisturizer ($22) that I’ve talked about SOOO much.  Then I go in with the Neutrogena SkinClearing Liquid Makeup with Salicylic Acid ($11.99) and rub it all over my face with my fingers.  It provides a REALLY good base and covers up the majority of my redness.  Only the few stubborn breakouts that are really red stick out.  I honestly wouldn’t have an issue not putting on concealer, but mostly I go for full coverage.  The salicylic acid in this foundation helps to keep me from getting oily throughout the day AND helps to prevent future breakouts so that you don’t have to feel guilty about wearing makeup all day because it actually is HELPING your skin!

Then, to cover up the extra stuff that showed through, I put 2 parts Revlon ColorStay Concealer ($7.99) to 1 part Benefit Erase Paste Concealer ($26) which I have a full-scale review of here.  Then I just spot cover with my finger the areas that need a little extra help being hidden from the world.

Next, I go in with the NYX Stay Matte Not Flat Powder Foundation ($9.50) and put some under my eyes with the RealTechniques Multi-Task Brush that I got in a set ($18) and on top of the more prominent breakouts to ensure that they stay covered throughout the day.  Then I go to do my eyes so that my face makeup can set a bit to ensure that nothing slides around/off my face.

For my eyes I start off with a MAC Paint Pot in either Painterly or Rubenesque ($18.50) for today I used Painterly so that I could do a SUPER neutral matte eye.  Then I go in with my go-to palette from Coastal Scents, the 88 Warm Palette ($11.95).  I used a super light color on the lid, 2 slightly darker colors in the crease and then a even lighter white on the browbone and inner corner to make those areas POP!  Sometimes I do a black shadow for a liner along my lashline, but today I wasn’t feeling it.

Once the eyes are done I set my face with a new foundation that I’ve been trying out, the Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder ($7.99).  So far so good, I tried this one because I needed a darker powder and I couldn’t find the Neutrogena one in the next shade up ANYWHERE.  It is a really good coverage and I don’t get super oily with it so that’s always nice.

Finish the look off with some mascara and you’re good to go!  I always use a waterproof formula since I have watery eyes and the one that I’ve been OBSESSED with is the Cover Girl Lash Blast Volume Mascara in Very Black ($8.99).

That’s my makeup routine in a nutshell.  Hope you enjoyed and maybe found some new products to try out!

Have a Fantabulous day!!!
